As part of account setup, all Lopay merchants are required to verify their identity before they can start taking payments.

You will either be prompted to do this when you created your account or if you've skipped this, it will show on the home screen that verification is required.

1. Select 'Complete now' to open a webform powered by Stripe, our payment processor.

2. Selecting what type of business you are by tapping on the box titled 'Type of business' and selecting from the drop-down options: Individual/Sole Trader, Company, or Non-profit.

Please note: If you select 'Company' you'll also need to select your business structure and you will need your registered company number

3. Once you have chosen your business type please select 'Continue'.

4. You will then need to write in your personal details, please tap the boxes provided to fill in your legal name, email address and date of birth.

Please note: These details must be of an Owner/Executive (or equivalent) in the business.

5. Once you have filled these details in, please scroll down and add the details for your home address and your phone number.

6. Once you are happy with the details entered, select 'Continue'.

7. You now need to verify your documents, please select 'Get started' and have a form of identification with you (e.g. passport or driving licence) and be ready to take a selfie.

8. Please then select whether you wish to verify your documents via automated verification or manual verification - we recommend automated verification as typically the fastest method.

9. Please allow camera access and then proceed to scan your ID.

Please note: You need to ensure Lopay has permission to access your camera to complete the identity verification section. To do this, please go to your Phone Settings, then Apps, then select Lopay and your primary web browser (e.g. Chrome) to ensure Camera is 'Allowed'.

10. Select your business industry from the drop-down list and enter the URL of your business website or business social media page.

If you don't have either of these, select the 'add a product description instead' and then enter a description of your business or product.

11. Review your details and select 'Continue' at the bottom of the page to confirm.
