With Tap to Pay on iPhone and the Lopay app, you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments, right on your iPhone — from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no extra hardware required.
It’s easy, secure, and private. Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in features of iPhone to help keep your business and customer data private and secure. When a payment is processed, Apple doesn’t store card numbers on the device or on Apple servers, so you can rest assured knowing your business stays yours.

When using Tap to Pay you will pay your usual transaction fee based on your account and payout schedule, plus 8p per transaction. For a full breakdown, see below.

How can my customers pay?
With Tap to Pay on iPhone and the latest iOS your customers can make contactless payments using Apple Pay, physical debit and credit cards, and other digital wallets. Your customer holds their card horizontally, or device at the top of the iPhone, over the contactless symbol.
In the context of your transactions, it’s important to be aware that using an RFID-blocking phone case might interfere with the NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality on your phone. NFC is essential for contactless transactions, including tap-to-pay payments. Therefore, it’s advisable to avoid cases that may disrupt these signals to ensure seamless and secure transactions.
RFID stands for Radio-Frequency Identification, and an RFID phone case typically contains material that blocks radio signals.
How can I view my Tap to Pay on iPhone transactions?
Tap to Pay on iPhone transactions will be displayed on the Activity screen of your Lopay app.

Are there any transaction limits?
There is no maximum transaction amount to accept contactless payments made using Tap to Pay on iPhone. For added security, the customer may be asked to enter their PIN.
Is my iPhone compatible?
You will need an iPhone XS or above running iOS 16.4 or later to use Tap to Pay on iPhone.
Can I still use other payment methods?
Yes. Once you've set up Tap to Pay on iPhone you can still use other payment methods available with Lopay.
How can I see the fees associated with using Tap to Pay on iPhone?
Tap to Pay on iPhone transactions will be displayed on the Activity screen of the Lopay app. Tap a transaction to see a full breakdown of the fees.
