Frequently asked questions

What are Google Wallet and Google Pay?

With Google Pay you can save cards to your Google account to pay on websites, in apps, and in stores. The Google Wallet app lets you access your cards on your Android device, so you can make contactless payments using your phone.

Is Google Pay secure?

Yes, Google doesn't store your card number on its servers, and it's never shared with third parties. Google doesn't store transaction information, so your purchases are private too.

Is my phone compatible with Google Pay?

Any Android device on version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher, that has NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled, is compatible with Google Pay.

Is Google Pay free to use?

Yes. Google doesn't add any extra charges, so using a card in your Google Wallet is the same as using a physical card.
